Terms of business

Prices:

Titles in this databank stem from various sources. Those items with Stäheli Numbers are titles usually stocked by us and thus normally available from stock or within about ten days. Prices are quoted in Swiss Francs, but are subject to change without prior notification.

All other titles, i.e. the ones without Stäheli Numbers, have to be ordered from the publishers or their distributors, time of delivery can vary between 2-3 days and about 3 weeks. Approximate prices are given in either Swiss Francs, Pound Sterling or US-Dollars – these are the latest quotations of the publishers and will be converted according to trade practice.

from 10 copies of the same book 10 %
from 50 copies of the same book 15 %

On approval orders:

All the books carrying a Stäheli Number are available "on approval for ten days", provided your order states your wish clearly. Books have to be returned to us in mint condition, as otherwise they cannot be credited. Photocopiables, cassettes, videos, CDs, DVDs, transparencies and computer software are not available "on approval", but many of them can be examined in our shop.

All the titles which do not carry a Stäheli Number or a Swiss Franc price are available on firm order only and cannot be returned to us.

Returns of language teaching books:

We certainly take a very liberal attitude towards returns, but ... Returns can only be accepted (and credited) if they have been authorised beforehand. Returns have to be accompanied by a note, stating invoice number and date, as well as the name of our staff who gave permission to return. Audio- and visual material, as well as computer software are supplied on a strictly firm basis, and cannot be returned.

Postage:

Online-orders totalling more than CHF 80.00 are supplied free of charge by PostPac Economy. If PostPac Priority is requested, we charge CHF 6.00 for each shipment.

For online-orders below this value, as well as for orders "on approval", CHF 5.00 are charged for parcels by PostPac Economy and CHF 6.00 for those sent by PostPac Priority.

Journal and Magazine Subscriptions:

If you are interested in subscribing to one or several journals or magazines, please put them into your shopping trolley and our subscription department will contact you by return via phone to discuss details of price, starting date, etc. Sample copies of most of the journals and magazines are available free of charge, but some publishers do charge for sending them.
All subscriptions are payable in advance. On receipt of your definitive order, we send you a proforma invoice but can pass the order to the publishers only upon receipt of your payment. In time for renewal we then send you our renewal request. Do not pay any requests sent to you by the publishers, but pass these on to us.
